Here are some simple tips to be followed while using cake glitters for your creation:

  • The edible glitter should be matching to the color of the icing placed on the cake. Using the glitter of the same shade of icing gives the best and enhanced look while contrasting color of glitter can spoil the entire grace.
  •  Always use either the butter-cream icing or the royal icing as a base while using edible glitters on a cake as they do cannot work with fondant icing.
  • The glitter should be sprinkled over the icing while it is wet and moist so that it can be set well with it. Some big sized sprinkles are placed on icing by carefully pressing them. Here bit carefulness of putting the right pressure is required.
Just after sprinkling glitter on the icing put the cake into the fridge to get settle down otherwise if the icing melts a little, sparkling glitter will turn in ugly colored spots on the cake.
